This website, trexit.org ("Trexit," "we," "us," or "our"), is a project of Protect American Democracy, a California 501(c)(4) social welfare organization funded by voluntary contributions. Trexit is not controlled by and does not coordinate with any campaign, political party, candidate, or campaign committee, and contributors have no editorial role. This policy explains what information we collect through trexit.org, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies only to this website. It does not apply to third-party websites we link to, which have their own privacy practices.
We collect only what we need to run the site.
Information you give us
Information collected automatically
Cookies. Trexit does not use cookies to profile you, track you across sites, or serve advertising. Our hosting and security provider (Cloudflare) may set limited cookies that are necessary for security and to keep the site working.
Contributions to Trexit go to Protect American Democracy and are processed by ActBlue.
ActBlue is the processor. When you contribute, you enter your information on a form operated by ActBlue, not by us. ActBlue handles that information under its own privacy policy, which you should read before you give: ActBlue Privacy Policy. Nothing in this policy limits or overrides theirs.
What we receive. ActBlue reports back to us the contributor's name, contact information, and the amount and date of the contribution. We use that record to acknowledge the contribution, to answer questions about it, to honor a request to correct or reverse it, and to meet any reporting or recordkeeping obligation that applies to us.
Contributing does not sign the pledge. Contributing does not sign the pledge, is not counted in the public pledge total, and does not add you to any Trexit email list. If we ever want to email contributors, that will require your opt-in at the point of giving and a revision to this policy, in that order.
We never sell contributor data. We do not sell, rent, trade, or share contributor information with third parties for their own marketing, and we do not exchange or trade contributor lists with any other organization.
They are separate records, kept for separate reasons. A pledge record exists because you signed the pledge and confirmed it by email. A contributor record exists because you gave money and ActBlue reported it to us. The same person may hold both, and many will.
We do not merge the two into a single profile, and holding one has no effect on the other: taking the pledge does not make you a contributor, and contributing does not enter you in the pledge count. If you ask us to delete your information, tell us which records you mean, or ask for both and we will delete both.

These providers are bound by their own privacy and security obligations. We may also disclose information if required by law, or where necessary to protect our rights, safety, or the integrity of the site.
If you take the pledge, we send a single confirmation email; your pledge is not counted until you confirm. We may occasionally email people who have pledged with information related to the pledge and the November 2026 election. Every such email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.

To make a request, email contact@trexit.org. We honor reasonable requests. We apply these choices to everyone, regardless of where you live, and we do not sell personal information.
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no common industry standard for how to respond, we do not currently respond to these signals. We also do not track you across other websites, so there is little to opt out of.
We keep pledge information for as long as needed to operate the pledge and through the 2026 election cycle, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. Security hashes and logs are kept only as long as needed for anti-abuse purposes.
We keep contributor records for as long as needed to administer the contribution and to meet any reporting or recordkeeping obligation that applies to us, which may run longer than the 2026 election cycle. Where a record is one we are required to keep, we cannot delete it on request, and we will tell you so rather than say we have. ActBlue keeps its own copy of what you entered on its form, for as long as its privacy policy provides; deleting a record on our side does not delete theirs.
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, such as storing IP data only in hashed form and restricting database access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Trexit is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The pledge is intended for eligible voters (18 or older). If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
The pledge on Trexit is intended only for U.S. citizens. Anyone may view the record, but if you are not a U.S. citizen you are not qualified to take the pledge. Contributions are accepted only from eligible individuals who are United States citizens or lawful permanent residents and from eligible organizations formed under United States law, and we accept no contribution from a foreign national; the full eligibility terms are in the Terms of Service. What is published about contributors is described on the Support page. If you access the site from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with your local laws.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" above and post the updated policy here.
