Welcome to trexit.org ("Trexit," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using this site, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Trexit is a project of Protect American Democracy, a California 501(c)(4) social welfare organization funded by voluntary contributions. It documents public statements and incident records, invites visitors to make a voluntary personal pledge related to the November 2026 election, and invites contributions that pay for that work. The site is provided for informational and civic-engagement purposes.
The pledge is a voluntary, personal, non-binding commitment. It is not a contract, and it creates no legal obligation on you or on us. It is a statement of personal intent, nothing more.
The statements, characterizations, and conclusions on this site are those of Protect American Democracy, offered as political expression. Trexit is not controlled by, endorsed by, authorized by, or coordinated with any candidate, campaign, political party, or political committee, and contributors have no editorial role. Nothing on this site is authorized by any candidate or any candidate's committee.
The pledge is intended for eligible United States voters who are 18 or older. By taking the pledge, you represent that you meet these criteria. The site is intended for adults.
Contributions are voluntary. Nothing on this site requires a contribution. You may read the record, take the pledge, and use every part of the site without giving anything. A contribution buys no editorial role: it does not add, alter, or withhold any entry, and it confers no say in what the record says.
Who may contribute. Contributions are accepted from individuals who are United States citizens or lawful permanent residents, contributing their own funds, and from organizations formed under the laws of the United States or of a State, whose funds are lawfully available for this purpose and who are not foreign nationals under federal law.
By contributing, you represent that you are eligible under the paragraph above; that the funds are your own, or, if you are contributing on behalf of an organization, are that organization's funds and you are authorized to commit them; and that the funds are not being reimbursed by anyone else.
What we will not accept. We do not accept contributions from foreign nationals, contributions made in the name of another person, or contributions from any candidate committee.
Any contribution may be declined. A contribution will be declined if the source of the funds cannot be confirmed, if the contributor is the subject of an entry in the record, or if it is offered on any condition regarding the content, targeting, or timing of what we publish. No contribution of any kind confers editorial influence, and none is accepted on terms that would.
Publication of contributions. Publication is a condition of acceptance. Every contribution from an organization is published, whatever its amount. An individual's contributions are published when they reach $5,000 or more in aggregate during a calendar year. Published information is the contributor's name, the amount, and the date. A contribution that cannot be published on these terms is returned. The full policy is on the Support page.
Tax status. Protect American Democracy is a 501(c)(4) social welfare organization, not a 501(c)(3) charity. Contributions to it are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes.
Processing. Contributions are processed by ActBlue, which operates the contribution form under its own terms and privacy policy. How contributor information is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.
Refunds. Contributions are voluntary and are generally not refundable. If you contributed in error, or believe a contribution was made without your authorization, contact us at contact@trexit.org within 30 days and we will review the request. Refunds, when issued, are returned to the original payment method through ActBlue.

The fact-checks and incident records on this site are compiled from publicly available sources, which are cited. We strive for accuracy and to source our claims. However:
If you believe something is inaccurate, please contact us. We welcome corrections.
When you submit information (a pledge or a message), you represent that you have the right to provide it and that it is accurate. Please do not send confidential or sensitive information through the site. You grant us permission to use your submission to operate the site. For example, we may record your pledge, respond to you, and maintain aggregate pledge counts. We handle your information as described in the Privacy Policy.
The design, text, and original content of this site are owned by Protect American Democracy or used with permission, and are protected by applicable law. Third-party material that we quote or reference remains the property of its respective owners and is used for commentary, criticism, and news-reporting purposes. You may read, share, and link to the site; you may not copy it wholesale or present it as your own.
The site links to third-party sources and websites (for example, the sources behind our fact-checks). We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of those sites, and links are not endorsements.
The site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. Nothing on this site is legal, voting, or professional advice. For official voting information, consult your state or local election authority.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Protect American Democracy will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising out of your use of, or inability to use, the site. To the extent any liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Protect American Democracy from any claims, losses, liabilities, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the site or your violation of these terms.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue the site at any time. We may also update these terms from time to time; when we do, we will revise the "Effective date" above. Your continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes arising out of or relating to the site or these terms will be subject to the courts located in California.
