The memecoin dinner: presidential access auctioned by token rank

Editor's note: reporting documents the token dinner and the buyers' spending, but no official record ties that money to the family.

On April 23, 2025, the coin's official site announced 'the most EXCLUSIVE INVITATION in the world': the top 220 average holders of $TRUMP from April 23 to May 12 would win a black-tie dinner with the president at Trump National Golf Club outside Washington, the top 25 adding a private VIP reception and 'Special Tour.' The token jumped more than 60% on the announcement. Qualifying required registering with Fight Fight Fight LLC - the Trump-linked issuer - and holding enough of the family's own product; Inca Digital put the collective spend above $140 million, Fortune at roughly $148 million, with the top wallet at $16.4 million.

The buyer base was substantially foreign and anonymous: Bloomberg found 19 of the top 25 wallets almost certainly operated from abroad via exchanges closed to U.S. customers, and more than half of the 220 used offshore exchanges. The winners' poster was topped by Justin Sun - the Chinese-born mogul who had put at least $75 million into WLF and whose SEC fraud case had been paused weeks after Trump took office - who attended, collected a Trump-branded watch, and posted about it.

On May 22 the president spoke for about 20 minutes to some 200 guests over filet mignon and halibut as protesters gathered outside. Sen. Chris Murphy called it 'a way around the State Department for foreign individuals of significant influence and wealth to be able to directly lobby the president'; one Democrat called it the biggest corruption scandal in White House history. No list of attendees was released.
