The Witkoffs: an envoy father, a stablecoin family
Steve Witkoff - Trump's Middle East special envoy, negotiating with Russia, Ukraine, Iran and the Gulf - was a WLF co-founder, and his reported income from the entity holding his World Liberty Financial interest more than tripled from $34 million in 2024 while he served as envoy. His son Zach, a WLF co-founder, announced WLF's role in an Abu Dhabi state-backed investment, and a WLF affiliate signed with Pakistan (FOR-10), a government their father dealt with as a US diplomat; his son Alex runs the family's Witkoff Group.
On entering government Witkoff sold a $120 million interest in the Witkoff Group (now run by Alex), but retained WLF exposure - so as he brokered Middle East diplomacy, the family's stablecoin business (and his own stake) grew on deals with those same governments. The father/son envoy/CEO overlap is the single clearest personnel embodiment of the crypto-meets-foreign-policy conflict.
This card is the Witkoff analogue to the Kushner conflict (FAM-02): a presidential-circle family in which the diplomat and the dealmakers are the same household, transacting with the governments at the table.
