Oman: a Trump resort with a state-owned partner

Editor's note: the president's own financial disclosure to the Office of Government Ethics reports licensing fees from Gulf projects that include Oman.

What happened

The Trump International project in Oman sits within the AIDA development near Muscat - one of the region's largest mixed-use projects - with OMRAN Group, the sultanate's government-owned tourism development company, as partner. The family's own site calls Trump International Oman a 'tremendous success' and the template for the subsequent Dar Global Gulf rollout (FOR-05).

Because a government-owned entity is a partner, Oman is a cleaner example than most of the family profiting from a project entangled with a foreign government - the line the second-term ethics plan claimed to hold (FOR-01) blurred through the Dar Global intermediary structure.

It is one node in the broader Gulf pipeline, distinguished by its state-owned partner, and generates ongoing licensing fees reported in Trump's disclosures.
