A $620M Pentagon loan to a startup three months after Don Jr.'s firm invested

What happened

About three months after Don Jr.'s 1789 Capital took a stake in the rare-earth magnet maker Vulcan Elements, the company won a $620 million Pentagon loan - with White House trade adviser Peter Navarro reported to have intervened to secure it. The NYT tied Vulcan to a broader web of roughly 14 companies linked to the president's sons that had drawn on nearly $9 billion in federal critical-minerals funding (FOR-12).

The sequence - family investment, then a fast-tracked federal loan to the same company, with a senior White House official pushing it - is the sharpest procurement-side instance of the board-seat economy (FAM-04). It converts the sons' private stakes into federally-backed upside, with the government's own money flowing to companies the family has bought into.

It is a P1 pay-to-play card: not a pardon, but the government's balance sheet deployed behind the sons' investments, allegedly with hands-on intervention from the president's trade adviser.
