“Under my just-enacted most-favored nation agreements, Americans who have for decades paid by far the highest prices of any nation anywhere in the world for prescription drugs will now pay the lowest price anywhere in the world for drugs. ... I took prescription drugs ... from the highest price in the entire world to the lowest. The result is price differences of 300, 400, 500, 600% and more, all available right now at a new website called trumprx.gov.”
Some TrumpRx prices are real discounts. The White House launched TrumpRx.gov on February 5, 2026 with drugs from the first five manufacturers to reach most-favored-nation pricing deals, at prices it describes as "in line with the lowest paid by other developed nations." But Americans do not now pay the lowest price in the world. KFF compared 32 brand-name TrumpRx drugs with prices in comparable countries: TrumpRx was lower than the peer average for 17 and higher for 15, only five were cheaper than in every other country, and 13 were priced higher than in any of the other countries.
Most TrumpRx products are brand-name drugs available only to customers without insurance who pay cash, and many compete with far cheaper generics, KFF Health News reported. Close to 1,000 brand-name drugs rose in list price in January 2026.
