What the evidence shows

Both halves of this claim fail. The B-2 strike on Iran's nuclear sites, Operation Midnight Hammer, happened on June 22, 2025, roughly 10.5 months before this interview, not 8. And the war was demonstrably not over: just one day before the interview was recorded, on May 4, 2026, the UAE intercepted Iranian ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones, and CNN reported U.S. and Iranian militaries trading shots as Strait of Hormuz tensions escalated.

Two days after the interview was recorded, and before it even aired, the shooting resumed in force. On May 7, 2026, U.S. Central Command carried out what it called "self-defense" strikes after Iranian attacks on the USS Truxtun, USS Rafael Peralta and USS Mason transiting the Strait of Hormuz, while Iran struck U.S. military vessels east of the waterway, each side accusing the other of violating the fragile Pakistan-mediated ceasefire reached April 8.

Hostilities continued well past Trump's declaration of victory: on May 25-26 the U.S. struck Iranian missile launch sites and boats as Iran threatened retaliation, and the Strait of Hormuz, closed by Iran since March 4, was still strangling global shipping in late May. A war with an unresolved blockade, active missile fire and a repeatedly violated ceasefire is not "essentially over."

"Misleading on the timeline. The B-2 nuclear strike — Operation Midnight Hammer — occurred on June 22, 2025, which was approximately 10.5 months before the May 5, 2026 interview." — Voice For Liberty fact-check of the Full Measure interview, May 11, 2026
