How this record
is paid for

The ask

This record is not free to produce. Trexit is funded by voluntary contributions from those who want it maintained and put in front of voters before November 3, 2026. There is no advertising and no sponsorship. What follows is what a contribution does not buy, and who receives it.

What contributions do not buy

Contributors have no editorial role: no contributor reviews an entry before publication, no entry is added, altered, or withheld at a contributor's request, and every correction is logged in public so that any departure from this standard is visible to you rather than to us.

No contribution is accepted on any condition regarding what this record covers, which races or regions it reaches, or when anything publishes. Those decisions are made under the published methodology and are not open to a contributor of any kind, whatever the amount and whatever the contributor's interest in the outcome.

Who receives the money

Contributions go to Protect American Democracy, a California 501(c)(4) social welfare organization, and are processed by ActBlue.

Protect American Democracy, 120 S. School St. #825, Lodi, CA 95240

Tax status

Protect American Democracy is a social welfare organization, not a charity. Contributions are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes.

What this project will not take

Trexit accepts no contributions from foreign nationals, no contributions made in the name of another person, and no contributions from any candidate committee. It carries no advertising and publishes no sponsored content. Any contribution may be declined, and one will be declined if the source of the funds cannot be confirmed, if the contributor is the subject of an entry in the record, or if it is offered on any condition regarding the content, targeting, or timing of what we publish.

What we disclose

A 501(c)(4) is not required to publish the names of its donors. This one publishes most of them anyway, because the value of a record depends on your ability to check who paid for it.

Every contribution from an organization is published, whatever its amount: the contributor's name, the amount, and the date. This applies to every organization, including political committees. An individual's contributions are published when they reach $5,000 or more in aggregate during a calendar year, on the same terms. Individual contributions below that are not published, because donor privacy in an organization like this one exists to protect people from retaliation, and an organization is not a person.

Publication is a condition of acceptance. A contributor who does not wish to be named should not contribute, and any contribution that cannot be published on these terms is returned. Published contributions are listed below and updated monthly.

No reportable contributions have been received to date.

A disclosure about the founder

Trexit's founder also founded Demos, Inc., a company that builds counter-disinformation software for political campaigns. Trexit is not a demonstration of that company's technology. No customer of that company is named, referenced, or solicited through this project, and any services it provides to Protect American Democracy are documented at arm's length.

Contact and refunds

Questions about a contribution, and requests to correct or reverse one, go to contact@trexit.org.

Contributions are voluntary and generally not refundable. The full policy, including how to request a review of a contribution made in error, is set out in the Terms.
